This was the first show we exhibited the tower 900 build. Placed towards the rear of the stand to draw people into the space for a chat. As the resonate show was fairly new to the scene it gave us the opportunity to purchase more space for the event and share the space with Thermaltake. We worked out a deal with Scan.co.uk to take on a large amount of stock of Thermaltake peripherals to sell at the event on a Sale Or Return basis. We even ran out of stock of a few of the items and the sales helped contribute to the cost of the stand space. We ran competitions through our facebook page and instagram using gleam.io to promote our social media pages and website. Growing in over 300+ followers over the weekend just from entries to win a keyboard !
This was also the first event in which we met Halberd which led to further discussions and building the company their Business/Gaming Workstations. This like other events we attended we were incredibly well received, we had some fantastic conversations with the likes of Coolermaster, CCL Computers and many others. Developing relationships that are still strong to this day. The biggest issue we faced during these events was as simple as the return of investment. I benefited us a great deal as a small company in regards to networking and becoming known on the scene. However the cost of the stand space in the end never really gave back much in terms of investment of time and money.
Looking back the cash spent on time at some of these events could have been used to build rigs to loan to other businesses on site and the team could have simply attended the event at a much more reduced rate and had a similar effect. Definitely work noting for future shows.
Regardless of that, the show itself was great fun and led to many new contacts and relationships. I still to this day love the buzz of manning event space and networking on such a large scale.
Take a look at the video below to see what content creator ScholarlyGamers had to say about the rigs we had on display.
