After meeting the Halberd.com team at the Resonate show in Scotland we were approached to make 4 gaming PC's that could be used on displays at events and exhibitions as well as taken back and used as high end office workstations.

Having learned from the process of CNC on the previous frost mod, as well as taking note of the fact the Halberd.com logo / typeface has some much thinner points than we had previously cut. Aquajet cutting uses high pressure water and garnet to create clean precise cuts. There was no need for sanding or filing after these cuts were made and it would definitely be the approach I took when doing these kind of cuts again.
The cases themselves (Thermaltake View 28) again were only released in black initially and that wasn't good enough for the plan I had in mind, as these PC's were to be linked on varying brightly coloured desks at events I used an airbrush and AutoAir paint to closely match the desk counterparts - Giving players at the events the opportunity to play in small Red Vs Blue skirmishes on the Halberd stand space.
Creating a consistent gradient using Black/Red paint and White/Blue across all 4 cases was one of the more difficult tasks. I was very happy with the pearlescent glossy finish I achieved and the deep red to black gradient was definitely a favourite at the shows they have attended.
4 Days was all we had from design sign off, to delivery, to painting, building, testing, installing and setting up the games for the event and getting them delivered. It was a tight squeeze to get them show ready but overall Halberd and the public loved the builds and their painted finish. They are still used in Halberds offices now.
Being able to exhibit at the stand with Halberd at Multiplay's Insomnia festival was a fantastic opportunity to network more and build a name for ourselves. Discussing the builds processes, spec and performance at these events was always an incredible experience. I would like to have spent more time going over the finer details of the design. Adding gold/bronzed custom cables to the red builds to fit more with Halberds brand. With matching silver cables on the blue builds. More time to gloss and buff the cases to really bring out the pearlescent finish. Looking back I would have loved to to create printed vinyl crenellations to stick to the clear acrylic panel to give a more castle/fantasy vibe
